Vermont Sublease Agreement Template

A sublease agreement allows for a relationship between two parties, one of which is a primary tenant in a rental property. The second party is not listed as a tenant on the primary lease agreement. If a landlord prohibits subletting in their rental property, any tenant that wants to sublease to a third party has to first obtain that landlord’s express permission. When a primary tenant enters into a sublease relationship, they assume all roles and responsibilities of the landlord in the eyes of the subtenant. A primary tenant can use rental applications to gather the information needed to conduct background checks on all sublet applicants.

Landlord’s Consent FormWhen sublets are not allowed, this document confirms the landlord’s consent for a particular sublease arrangement.
