A landlord’s sublease consent gives permission to the tenant renting the property that they are allowed to sublet to another person (“subtenant”). The original tenant will remain on the lease and be fully responsible for the subtenant in the chance of non-payment of rent or damage to the premises. In the event the subtenant violates the sublease or needs to be evicted, the tenant will be the party responsible for removing the subtenant from the property.
After the landlord signs the consent form, the tenant is able to write and sign a sublease agreement with a subtenant.
