Pennsylvania Standard Residential Lease Agreement

A Pennsylvania standard residential lease agreement is a contract whereby a landlord and renter execute a tenancy’s terms before the soon-to-be tenant occupies the property for living purposes. By negotiating, each party can haggle for their desired leasing conditions, such as the monthly rental costs and necessary security deposits due at signing. Both parties shall execute the lease upon reaching a mutual understanding — at which point each will sign the contract. The leasing period lasts for a fixed term, typically one (1) year, but it may vary depending on the nature of the rental arrangement. During the tenancy, each party must act within the confines of the agreement and under the scope of Pennsylvania landlord-tenant laws. Any violation may result in legal action, such as eviction for non-payment or illegal activity.
