A Mississippi sublease agreement allows the tenant in a rental agreement to sublet space in their unit to a third-party tenant. Sublets are only allowed with the landlord’s permission. The primary tenant is liable to the landlord for any violations of the primary lease agreement that are caused by the subtenant. Therefore, the primary tenant is responsible for any disciplinary actions that must be taken against the subtenant under either the primary agreement or the sublease agreement. Subtenant applicants should fill out a rental application in order to be considered for the sublease agreement.
