A Minnesota sublease agreement is a rental contract that establishes a relationship between a tenant of a rental property and a third-party tenant. This arrangement can only happen with the permission of the landlord. In a sublease, the subtenant is liable to the primary tenant. If the subtenant violates the sublease agreement or primary agreement in any way, the primary tenant is liable to the landlord. It’s recommended that prospective subtenants complete a rental application before entering into a sublease agreement.
