A Washington month-to-month rental agreement is a short-term tenancy agreement, also known as a “tenancy-at-will,” between a landlord and a tenant. What this means, essentially, is that either party can terminate the agreement at any time, as long as twenty (20) days’ notice is given. This arrangement is renewed each month, when the agreed-upon rent is paid.
Minimum Termination Period
State law requires that tenancy can be terminated by either party via written notice of twenty (20) days or more.
