A North Carolina month-to-month lease termination letter is utilized by a landlord or tenant to cancel a tenancy-at-will by providing seven (7) days’ notice. This notice is best sent by certified mail with a return receipt or by any other method where acknowledgment can be proven. After seven (7) days the tenant is required to vacate the property or the landlord can start the eviction process.
