South Carolina Standard Residential Lease Agreement

A South Carolina standard residential lease agreement records all terms and conditions dictating a residential tenancy. A landlord and tenant enter such contract upon reaching an understanding in regards to the rental arrangement and its terms, such as the monthly costs and security deposits due at signing. Though optional, a landlord may conduct background checks on potential tenants to determine if their financial and criminal history aligns with the desired qualifications of the landlord. Upon selecting their tenant, the landlord shall complete the written lease and sign it into effect. A notary acknowledgment may be sought for an additional layer of security, but it is optional.
