A landlord’s notice to enter is a right in most States to perform an inspection or to fulfill a maintenance request. Under most States, the landlord must provide notice at least 24 to 48 hours before entering the premises. The notice can simply be posted on or slipped under the tenant’s door. The entry must be during normal working hours between 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

At the end of the tenant’s lease term, it’s common for the landlord to request showings that may be within the 24 to 48 hours requirement. It is 100% up to the tenant to give their permission and consent to allow the landlord in the property on shorter notice.
