A New Jersey roommate agreement is a contract used by tenants living in a common dwelling unit. The agreements ensure that each tenant will meet his or her obligations, including paying rent. Along with identifying the monthly rent, the agreements can set out other obligations that the roommates agree on. Each tenant should sign and keep a copy of the agreement.
