A New Hampshire month-to-month rental agreement, otherwise known as a “tenancy-at-will”, is a legally binding short-term lease agreement between two parties. A tenancy-at-will has no official end date and either party is permitted to terminate or amend the agreement with a minimum of thirty (30) days’ written notice. All desired amendments and terminations must follow whatever stipulations are outlined in the lease agreement and be in accordance with the minimum termination laws in New Hampshire. It’s prudent for the landlord to utilize a rental application to verify the tenant’s background and income before finalizing a rental agreement.
