A North Carolina roommate agreement is a document outlining the rights and obligations of tenants in a shared, rented living space. The agreements should be written and signed by each roommate. Along with paying their share of the monthly rent, tenants may seek to include other duties in the agreement, such as responsibility for utilities. Each tenant should keep a copy of the agreement and refer to it in the event of a disagreement among roommates.
