An Iowa month-to-month rental agreement is a contract for leasing property for an undetermined amount of time. Also known as a tenancy at will, this arrangement allows landlords and tenants to terminate a lease regardless of how much time has passed, so long as they give the required amount of notice. As with a standard lease agreement, the provisions of a month-to-month rental agreement may be negotiated by the parties.
Minimum Termination Period
The landlord or the tenant may terminate a month-to-month tenancy by a written notice given to the other at least thirty (30) days prior to the periodic rental date specified in the notice.
